Maintenance Engineer - Cookstown

Evening Shift 4 per week Monday to Thursday

We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join our clients manufacturing team based in Cookstown. This role involves handling electrical and mechanical maintenance, repairs, and fitting work to keep machinery and equipment operating efficiently. The successful candidate will play a vital role in reducing downtime and ensuring smooth production processes.

Salary package in 38 - 42k range



The Role

  • Develop and oversee a scheduled maintenance programme to prevent unexpected equipment failures.
  • Carry out electrical and mechanical repairs, diagnosing issues and ensuring quick resolution.
  • Install and set up power supply wiring and conduit for newly introduced machines and systems.
  • Respond promptly to machine malfunctions, making necessary adjustments and repairs to keep operations running.
  • Conduct routine equipment checks to identify and resolve potential faults before they cause breakdowns.
  • Work on hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems, replacing and repairing faulty components as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Production Manager to source essential parts and materials at the best possible price from approved suppliers.
  • Keep the Shift Manager updated on repair progress and estimated completion times.
  • Maintain strict adherence to Health & Safety standards, helping to enforce company policies and procedures.
  • Supervise employees to ensure the proper use of machinery and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Notify management of machinery faults that may require planned downtime for more extensive maintenance work.
  • Ensure all maintenance and servicing records are accurately logged and kept up to date.
  • Undertake any other tasks reasonably assigned by the Production Manager.


What We're Looking For

  • Apprenticeship in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering
  • Maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting
  • CNC machine experience preferred
  • Strong experience in both preventative and reactive maintenance
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload effectively.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
