Financial Controller - Lead and Drive Financial Excellence! Are you a skilled and strategic finance professional looking for a hands-on leadership role? This is a fantastic opportunity to take full ownership of financial operations, ensure compliance, and provide valuable insights to support business stability and long-term success. The Role As Financial Controller, you will oversee all financial activities, working closely with the Group Finance Director to maintain strong financial management and drive operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Manage cash flow, optimise collections, and oversee payments.
  • Handle PAYE, VAT filings, plastic tax, and HMRC compliance.
  • Ensure smooth payroll processing in collaboration with HR and external providers.
  • Oversee creditor payments, bank accounts, insurance, and leases
  • Manage standard cost calculations and analyse manufacturing variances.
  • Provide financial insights to support key business decisions, including:
    • Weekly sales forecasting
    • Commercial business cases
    • Stock optimisation
  • Ensure adherence to UK GAAP, IFRS, and company policies.
  • Lead the audit process and liaise with external auditors.
  • Lead and develop the local finance team.
  • Act as the Finance Key User for the company's ERP system, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.
  • Provide financial analysis and recommendations to senior management.
  • Collaborate with other department heads to improve processes and cost efficiencies.

What We're Looking For

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with strong financial management experience.
  • Manufacturing sector experience - at least 3 years in a similar role.
  • Deep knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS, and financial regulations.
  • Advanced Excel and ERP systems proficiency.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven team leadership and stakeholder management experience.
  • Ability to work effectively in a structured, process-driven environment.
