Location: Applicants must be willing to work in offices in Kettering, Wellingborough or Corby as and when required, once training provided there will be opportunity for some remote working.

Contract until December 2024 - will be reviewed and possibility to extend.

Opus People Solutions are recruiting on behalf of North Northamptonshire Council for a Business Support Officer to join the Housing Allocations department.

We are looking for candidates with admin experience who are fast working, quick thinking and that have an interest in this sector. Contracts may be extended beyond September 2024 and there will be an opportunity to apply for permanent positions in the future.

The successful candidate will have experience in an office based customer focused environment and the ability to prioritise workloads.

Main responsibilities:

  • To provide advice and assistance to customers on the Council's housing register.
  • To assist the Allocations Manager in the day-to-day operation of Keyways, the Council's choice based allocations scheme.
  • To provide administrative support for the relevant IT system.
  • To process all housing applications to the agreed standards and timescales
  • To notify all housing applicants of their application status and how to bid
  • To respond to applicants' enquiries concerning all aspects of the Keyways scheme in writing, by telephone and at interview.
  • To ensure that all completed housing applications are entered onto the software system, referring any queries to the Allocations Manager where necessary.
  • To collate property details and advertise vacant properties.
