We are recruiting on behalf of a well established and respected children’s residential home that supports young people with Emotional and Behavioral Difficulties (EBD). The home currently holds a "GOOD" Ofsted rating and provides a stable, nurturing environment. As the Registered Manager, you will have the opportunity to lead this 2-bed home and help ensure it continues to thrive. There is also a fantastic opportunity for the successful candidate to dual register the home in the near future.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take overall responsibility for the day-to-day management and operation of the children’s home.
- Lead and support a dedicated team of staff, ensuring they are motivated and delivering high-quality care.
- Oversee the implementation of care plans, risk assessments, and safeguarding policies.
- Ensure compliance with Ofsted standards and regulations to maintain the home’s "GOOD" rating.
- Take part in occasional on-call duties to provide additional support when required.
- Liaise with external agencies, including social services and local authorities, to ensure the highest standards of care for the young people.
- Work closely with the Responsible Individual (RI) and Director, receiving support and guidance to further develop the service.
- Prepare for future growth and the possibility of dual registering the home, depending on experience and performance.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Proven experience as a Registered Manager in a children's residential setting, preferably working with EBD.
- A minimum of NVQ Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People’s Services (or equivalent).
- A strong understanding of Ofsted regulations and the ability to lead the home through successful inspections.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and mentor staff.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with young people, families, and external agencies.
- A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection protocols.
- Confident in dealing with challenging behaviour and supporting young people with complex emotional needs.
- Ability to work occasional on-call shifts and adapt to the demands of managing a dynamic care environment.
- A valid UK driving license is essential.
