Acorn by Synergie is currently seeking a Metal Manual CNC / Turning Machinist for our client in Corby.

Responsibilities:

The Engineering Shop provides support for tube manufacturing operations. The CNC Machinist will be responsible for machining one-off and small batch components or plant CNC equipment based on engineering drawings or internal specifications and standards. The role requires working 8-hour shifts, Monday to Friday, covering days, backs, and nights on a weekly rotation.

Requirements:

To be considered for the CNC Manual Turning Machinist role, you should possess the following qualifications, skills, and attributes:

  • Completion of a recognised apprenticeship or demonstrated competence through experience.
  • NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent qualification, or demonstrated competence through experience.
  • Experience in setting and operating CNC lathe machines.
  • Proficiency in CNC programming, including program understanding and editing. Familiarity with Fanuc systems is preferred, but training can be provided.
  • Experience in manual operation of lathes, milling machines, and general workshop machinery is advantageous.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and standards accurately.
  • Competence in using measuring equipment such as calipers and micrometers.
  • Capability to perform manual tasks weighing up to 25kg.
  • Possession of a valid driving license.
