Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our client's dynamic team in a fast-paced warehouse environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts to move, locate, and relocate materials within the warehouse. This role requires a strong focus on safety and efficiency while ensuring that all materials are handled correctly and stored appropriately.
Duties
- Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to load and unload goods from lorries.
- Move materials throughout the warehouse using a warehouse management system.
- Perform regular inspections and maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Assist in shipping and receiving operations, ensuring accurate documentation of all incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Handle materials with care, adhering to safety protocols to prevent damage or injury.
- Engage in heavy lifting as required, ensuring proper techniques are used to maintain safety.
- Maintain an organised work area, ensuring that all equipment is stored correctly after use.
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily operational goals.
Experience
- Previous experience operating forklifts in a warehouse setting is essential.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems is advantageous.
- Experience in shipping and receiving processes will be beneficial.
- Strong skills in materials handling and heavy lifting are required.
- Basic maths skills for inventory management and documentation are necessary.
