Location: Corby, Northamptonshire Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday, 9 AM - 5 PM

Are you a versatile engineer with a knack for keeping complex systems running smoothly? Our client, an industry leader in automated material handling solutions based in Corby, is looking for a Multiskilled Engineer to join their innovative team.

The Opportunity: In this role, you'll apply your diverse engineering skills to maintain, optimize, and enhance sophisticated material handling systems. Your expertise in electrical systems, combined with mechanical knowledge, will be crucial in ensuring peak performance and minimal downtime of our client's cutting-edge automation equipment.

Core Duties:

  • Conduct proactive and reactive maintenance on advanced material handling systems
  • Create and execute comprehensive Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) strategies
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in conveyor systems, AGVs, and robotic picking units
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to boost efficiency and reduce energy usage
  • Coordinate with operations teams to minimize production disruptions
  • Maintain detailed logs of all maintenance activities and system performance metrics
  • Uphold stringent health and safety standards in all work activities

Your Expertise:

  • HNC/HND in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronics) or equivalent
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in industrial maintenance, ideally with material handling systems
  • Proficiency in electrical systems, PLC programming, and motor control technologies
  • Familiarity with conveyor systems, robotics, and AS/RS (Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems)
  • Capability to decipher complex electrical schematics and technical blueprints
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and performance under pressure
  • Flexibility to work occasional weekends and participate in on-call rotations
