Our Corby based client, an established and innovative organisation is seeking a Quality, Health, Safety & Environmental (QHSE) Technician to join its dynamic team. This role is instrumental in maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and environmental compliance while driving continuous improvement across the business.
This position offers a hands-on opportunity for an individual passionate about quality excellence and fostering a culture of safety. Reporting to the QHSE Manager, the successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring products and processes meet rigorous standards, supporting audits, and proactively addressing quality concerns.
Role Highlights
Quality Excellence and Shop Floor Engagement
- Actively monitor and address quality issues at the source, ensuring substandard products are identified and resolved.
- Maintain a strong presence on the shop floor to foster alignment and collaboration.
- Conduct routine inspections to verify compliance with quality standards.
- Document non-conformance events and oversee corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Support internal and external audits, ensuring adherence to ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 standards.
- Investigate incidents, ensuring thorough documentation and effective follow-up measures.
- Maintain accurate records of compliance, incidents, and audits.
- Deliver QHSE inductions to employees and contractors, ensuring awareness of relevant policies and standards.
- Analyse root causes of quality concerns and implement effective preventive measures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and action improvement opportunities.
- Act as the first point of contact for QHSE-related queries.
- Assist in facility and contractor management, ensuring proper record-keeping and permit handling.
Qualifications and Experience
- Preferred: IOSH or similar certifications.
- Beneficial: Knowledge or experience in Quality Assurance, Health & Safety, or Environmental compliance.
- Required: Previous experience in a manufacturing, engineering, or production environment.
- Analytical Thinking: Strong ability to investigate root causes and implement solutions.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills, building effective relationships across teams.
- Attention to Detail: A meticulous approach to quality and compliance.
- Technical Proficiency: Ability to read engineering drawings and inspect parts.
