Health and Safety Officer

ENB are supporting our Corby based client who are looking for a H&S Officer to join their team on a full time, permanent basis. This role will be a standalone role on site, reporting into the Group H&S Manager.

As the H&S Officer, your role will be to ensure, control and educate on all safety related issues within the site, helping to maintain a safe working environment for employees. You will also ensure compliance and provide HSE advice and direction to the Senior Management team and those with direct safety responsibilities defined within their job roles.

Some of the key requirements include:

  • Ensuring all HSE policies are compliant, followed and reviewed as required.
  • Provide authoritative guidance on HSE matters to all stakeholders.
  • Produce safety statistics for Senior management based on incidents across the site.
  • Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with internal and external customers, primarily the HSE.
  • Ensure robust reporting regimes are in place and that all HSE reportable incidents are reported within their required timeframes under RIDDOR.
  • Oversee all incident investigations in order to ensure appropriate conclusions are achieved with Lessons learned being shared within the wider team.
  • Ensure that all work activities have been assessed and that risk assessments are completed and reviewed by their owners to a suitable and sufficient standard.
  • To ensure continuous improvement in all HSE matters.
  • Ensure that monthly HSE meetings are carried out and minutes produced with action items monitored to closure.
  • Ensure that safety data is communicated to all levels of the business on a weekly basis together with a high-level monthly presentation for Group HSE Manager.
  • Ensure internal audits, systems policies and procedures are developed and maintained in order to meet business objectives.
  • Be the Sustainability Ambassdor for the site and attend monthly meetings with global sites to continue promoting sustainability at site level

Experience required:

  • NEBOSH qualified
  • Strong and extensive HSE experience ideally in a high-volume manufacturing or automotive environment.
  • Experience in implementing and maintaining an accredited Safety Management system (ISO 45001) (ISO14001) (ISO5001)
