Interim Head of Payroll | Global Shared Business Services | Temporary | Up to £500pd Corby, Northamptonshire Immediate Start Available

Are you an experienced Payroll Manager with a passion for delivering exceptional service and leading high-performing teams?

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Head of Payroll to join our Global Shared Business Services (GSBS) team. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is ready to take ownership of payroll operations, provide strategic insights, and lead a talented team towards excellence.

Role Overview:

As the Head of Payroll, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire payroll function, ensuring that payroll processes are accurate, efficient, and compliant with relevant legislation. You'll lead a high-performing team, implement innovative payroll strategies, and work closely with key stakeholders across the business to provide valuable insights and operational excellence. You will also act as the primary point of contact for external partners and ensure compliance with taxation procedures, employee benefits, and more.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the payroll team to deliver accurate and timely payroll services, maintaining high performance against agreed SLAs and KPIs.
  • Develop and recommend policies for payroll, employee benefits, taxation, and more to ensure full compliance with relevant tax authorities.
  • Partner with HR, Reward, and Finance teams to deliver an engaging employee benefits package and drive payroll-related initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with legislative changes and proactively prepare for any HMRC or relevant tax authority changes.
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement, identify areas for process enhancement, and implement innovative strategies to optimize payroll processes.
  • Lead with a focus on creating a collaborative, high-performance culture, inspiring and developing the skills of your team.
  • Act as a trusted partner with senior stakeholders and external suppliers, ensuring the smooth execution of payroll services across the business.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Proven payroll management experience with a strong understanding of payroll systems and processes.
  • CIPP Diploma in Payroll Management (or equivalent).
  • Solid knowledge of employee benefits packages, dispensations, and PSA's.
  • Strong leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to manage and develop teams.
  • Experience in working within payroll compliance, including tax legislation and statutory requirements.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of change management processes within payroll operations.
  • CI qualification or similar to drive process improvement initiatives.
