About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Lab Technician to join a dynamic team in a leading company in the energy sector. This role offers the opportunity to work hands-on with innovative processes while supporting the company's efforts to contribute to the UK's net-zero targets.
You'll be responsible for conducting tests, analyses, and experiments, as well as maintaining equipment and ensuring high-quality standards in a laboratory environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine and non-routine testing using technical equipment and instruments.
- Collect, process, and analyse waste samples.
- Calculate and report test results accurately using computer software.
- Prepare and deliver weekly reports for customers.
- Supervise and support experiments that drive innovation.
- Perform quality control checks, calibrate lab equipment, and maintain a clean workspace.
- Comply with all safety, health, and environmental regulations and foster a safe working environment.
- Assist in improving testing methodologies and enhancing waste treatment processes.
- Provide occasional cover for the site weighbridge, monitoring weigh-ins/ outs and issuing tickets.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific field is preferred.
- 1-2 years of laboratory experience.
- Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office.
- Analytical and numerical skills, including the ability to work with fractions, percentages, and ratios.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Ability to write detailed reports and correspondence.
