About the Role


We are seeking a skilled and motivated Lab Technician to join a dynamic team in a leading company in the energy sector. This role offers the opportunity to work hands-on with innovative processes while supporting the company's efforts to contribute to the UK's net-zero targets.

You'll be responsible for conducting tests, analyses, and experiments, as well as maintaining equipment and ensuring high-quality standards in a laboratory environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and non-routine testing using technical equipment and instruments.
  • Collect, process, and analyse waste samples.
  • Calculate and report test results accurately using computer software.
  • Prepare and deliver weekly reports for customers.
  • Supervise and support experiments that drive innovation.
  • Perform quality control checks, calibrate lab equipment, and maintain a clean workspace.
  • Comply with all safety, health, and environmental regulations and foster a safe working environment.
  • Assist in improving testing methodologies and enhancing waste treatment processes.
  • Provide occasional cover for the site weighbridge, monitoring weigh-ins/ outs and issuing tickets.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific field is preferred.
  • 1-2 years of laboratory experience.
  • Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office.
  • Analytical and numerical skills, including the ability to work with fractions, percentages, and ratios.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Ability to write detailed reports and correspondence.
