Location: Corby, Northamptonshire

Hours: 08.40am - 3.40pm, Monday to Friday

We are a dynamic and inclusive school dedicated to providing high-quality education and support for pupils with a diverse range of special educational needs. Our school serves students aged 4 to 18 years and is proud to be commissioned by Northamptonshire Local Authority to cater specifically to children and young people with an Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP).

Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join our committed team. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational and developmental needs of our students. Your primary focus will be on creating a positive and inclusive learning environment, ensuring that every child receives the support they need to thrive academically and socially.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one or small group support to students with special educational needs.
  • Assist in the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) and contribute to the overall educational strategy for each student.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive atmosphere within the classroom, promoting a positive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to create a holistic support system for each student.
  • Encourage and facilitate students' independence and self-confidence in their learning.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Previous experience working in a similar role within a special educational needs setting is desirable.
  • A genuine passion for supporting the educational development of children and young people with diverse needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Understanding and knowledge of various special educational needs and the ability to adapt support strategies accordingly.
  • Relevant qualifications in education or special education would be an advantage.
