Are you an experienced Workshop Manager or similar looking to take the next step in your career in a position of high responsibility and autonomy as you oversee a close-knit and growing team of engineers?

This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a senior position with an established business within the steel fabrication industry, as you aid drive the business's growth and keep up with increasing demand.

This steel fabricating business is renowned within the industry, with a large client base of household names across the UK. Due to the securing of new contracts, the company is looking to add a Workshop Manager to the team to support with recent growth.

In this role you will oversee a close-knit team of fabricators/welders. After receiving the engineering drawings/plans, you will organize the tasks of the team to ensure standards and deadlines are met. You will also be responsible for the health & safety of the team.

The ideal candidate will be a Workshop manager or similar, and will have good experience within the steel industry. You will also have experience maintaining health & safety standards and have experience with Microsoft Excel. Those from a similar industry to steel and fabrication will be considered.

The Role

  • Managing a close-knit team of fabricators/welders
  • Plan the fabricating schedule to meet deadlines upon receiving engineering drawings & requirements

The Person

  • Workshop Manager/Production Manager/ similar background
  • Will ideally come from the steel industry, though similar industries will be considered
  • Ability to read engineering drawings
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel
  • Experience planning the workload of engineers (desirable)
