Barker Ross are recruiting for a skilled and experienced JIG Designer to support our client in Corby, This role will be to support our clients Robotic welding operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and developing welding JIGS and fixtures for the Robotic Welder to ensure efficiency and precision, and consistency in the production process. This role is perfect for someone looking for flexible, part-time work in a dynamic engineering and manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities:

  • Design and develop JIGS and fixtures for the robotic welding applications, ensuring optimal positioning and repeatability.
  • Work closely with the production and engineering teams to ensure JIG designs met operational requirements and improve productivity.
  • Test and refine JIG designs to optimise performance, minimise cycle times and improve weld accuracy.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting For the JIG implementation and modifications.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in JIG and fixture design, preferably for robotic welding systems.
  • Strong knowledge of welding principles, including MIG, TIG and resistance welding techniques.
  • Familiarity with Robotic welding systems such as FANUC, ABB or KUKA is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in CAD, Inventor software, "D and D modelling (AutoCAD or equivalent).
  • Understanding of materials, fabrication techniques and tolerance stack-up analysis.
  • Experience with fixture clamping methods, distortion control and heat management in welding processes.
  • Relevant engineering or technical qualification are desirable.
