We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Nursery Practitioner to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong and a genuine love for working with children. As a Nursery Practitioner, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young learners. Your leadership skills will be essential in guiding and supporting both children and fellow staff members.
Duties
- Provide high-quality care and education to children aged 0-5 years, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Develop and implement engaging educational activities that promote learning through play, fostering children's development across various domains.
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to build strong relationships and ensure the needs of each child are met.
- Manage daily routines, including meal times, nap times, and outdoor play, ensuring a structured yet flexible environment.
- Observe and assess children's progress, maintaining accurate records to inform planning and support individual learning needs.
- Collaborate with the team to create a positive atmosphere that encourages teamwork and professional growth.
- Drive initiatives that enhance the nursery’s practices in line with current early years frameworks and regulations.
Requirements
- Relevant qualifications in Early Childhood Education or Childcare are essential.
- A Level 3 qualification in childcare or early years education.
- Paediatric First Aid (PFA) certification.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies.
- A DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check to ensure suitability to work with children.
- Experience working with children in a nursery or childcare setting (often gained during training).
- Experience working with children in a nursery or similar setting is highly desirable.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a small team effectively.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to engage with children, parents, and colleagues.
- A genuine passion for childcare and early childhood education is crucial.
- Ability to drive may be advantageous for transporting resources or attending training sessions off-site.
