Our client, a premier player in the Defence & Security sector, is seeking a Technical Lead for a contract role in the delivery of the SK6 Service Delivery Wrap (SDW) project. This role is crucial for leading the SDW Technical team, supporting planning, resourcing, and delivering technical outputs, as well as Assurance and Acceptance activities. The position offers a flexible working arrangement, combining remote and onsite work at Defence Digital, MOD Corsham.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinating the technical programme of work for the Skynet ground infrastructure replenishment and integration of new equipment.
- Liaising with contractor technical representatives to ensure outputs meet acceptance criteria.
- Engaging with stakeholders across MOD for inputs, advice, and reviews.
- Leading and facilitating engineering reviews to deliver SDW Transition outputs.
- Supporting Assurance and Acceptance activities, including the Waivers and Deviations process.
- Providing input to the SDW technical change and risk management processes.
- Developing Programme ITEA strategies and SDW Engineering Management Plans.
- Facilitating discussions with various MOD and Skynet programme teams and stakeholders.
Job Requirements:
Essential:
- Proven experience in Systems Engineering, including design baseline management, systems integration, and service assurance.
- Experience in the delivery of military satellite communications systems.
- Experience with requirements engineering on MOD Cat A or B programmes.
- Ability to lead and coordinate engineering review lifecycles (e.g., PDR, CDRs).
- Excellent stakeholder management and facilitation skills.
- Strong communication skills, fluent in English.
- L2 clearance and UK nationality.
Desirable:
- L3 clearance.
- Experience with MOD systems and access to a MODNET account and laptop.
- Familiarity with Skynet's Integration and Test Facilities.
- Experience in Technology Obsolescence Management.
- Understanding of Skynet MOU's and associated systems.
