Overview:
First Military Recruitment is proudly working in partnership with a fantastic International Defence business who are looking to recruit a HGV Vehicle Technician with supervisory experience on a permanent basis due to growth based at their Cottesmore depot.
The HGV Vehicle Technician Supervisor role isn't an ordinary Mechanic position. This position will provide an opportunity to work on some fantastic military vehicles and enhance your mechanical knowledge on the wider spectrum in addition to offering exceptional career advancement opportunities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Managing employee lifecycle (recruitment through to exit processes)
- Managing employee relations (disciplinary, grievance, welfare)
- Performance management (including objective setting, appraisals, managing poor performance, reward/recognition)
- Managing resource levels (absence management, annual leave, use of overtime)
- System administration - ERP, safety near misses, asset management, quality, Quality Management System (QMS)
- You’ll also ensure stores and equipment issued to job are used for their correct purpose.
- Diagnose, inspect, and assess vehicles and associated mechanical / electrical equipment in line skills & competency.
- Ensure stores and equipment issued to job are used for their correct purpose and un-used or new faulty material is returned to the section / department Team Leader as soon as it is identified.
- Creation of job cards and demanding material where the relevant ERP (SAP) training has been completed.
- Completion of vehicle and equipment documentation and test certificates / reports to current standards.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience with heavy vehicles eg. HGV’s
- Military Vehicle experience desirable but not essential
- Ability to manage people, individuals, and teams.
- Competent PC user (MS Office, MS Outlook, SharePoint, ERP system)
- Ability to challenge and have awkward conversations.
- Ability to make rational decisions based on information available.
