Learning Support Assistant

We are seeking an experienced Learning Support Assistant to join a reputable educational institution. This role involves supporting a pupil as part of their Education and Health Care Plan, ensuring they achieve their full potential in both social interactions and academic pursuits.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Provide individual attention, reassurance, and assistance to a high-ability pupil, encouraging them to engage fully in their learning and school activities.
  • Support the pupil across various subjects, with a focus on enhancing their English and Maths skills.
  • Work within our Neurodiversity Hub, assisting students who require specialised support.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to facilitate a supportive and effective educational environment.
  • Utilise excellent communication skills to build strong, positive relationships with both students and staff.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • A recognised Teaching Assistant qualification such as NVQ, NNEB, City & Guilds, BTEC, or equivalent.
  • Relevant experience in an educational setting, particularly in supporting students with diverse educational needs.
  • Strong proficiency in English and Maths.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to listen, empathise, and engage effectively with children.
  • Ability to work flexibly and adaptively in a dynamic educational environment.
