We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join a high-performing, Private Equity (PE) backed business based in Coventry. As a Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting activities, preparing accurate financial statements, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations and accounting standards. This is a hands-on role that offers excellent exposure to the financial operations of a PE-backed business.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with accounting standards (UK GAAP/IFRS).
Manage the month-end close process, ensuring all accounting entries are recorded accurately and within deadlines.
Oversee balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Assist with the preparation of the company’s annual financial statements, liaising with auditors during the year-end audit process.
Ensure proper accounting of fixed assets, tax, and intercompany transactions.
Support the preparation and filing of VAT returns and ensure compliance with relevant tax regulations.
Contribute to cash flow forecasting and financial reporting for senior leadership and investors.
Maintain strong internal controls to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with relevant policies.
Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and support to internal stakeholders as required.
Identify areas for process improvements in financial reporting and accounting processes.

Key Requirements:

ACA, ACCA, or equivalent qualified accountant (or equivalent experience).
Proven experience in financial accounting, ideally within a Private Equity backed or fast-paced environment.
Strong technical accounting knowledge, including experience with UK GAAP/IFRS.
Strong Excel skills and familiarity with accounting software and systems.
Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced business.
Strong communication skills with the ability to present financial information to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
Experience in preparing financial statements and liaising with auditors.
Exposure to tax, VAT, or treasury processes would be beneficial.
