Join a leading organisation in the charity sector as a Financial Controller. This pivotal role ensures the financial integrity of the organisation's finances, including financial reporting, forecasting, and budgeting across multiple entities. The successful candidate will lead a finance team and foster a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring compliance with Charity legislation. 

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Oversee the production of monthly management accounts and ensure timely financial reviews with budget holders to monitor and enhance financial performance.
  • Prepare financial reports and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
  • Develop and manage the annual budget in collaboration with budget holders, providing strategic financial forecasts and analysis.
  • Maintain accurate financial records for all funds, ensuring proper allocation and usage, and prepare timely financial reports for donors and budget holders.
  • Lead change management initiatives to improve financial processes and systems, ensuring successful adoption and evaluating the impact on financial operations.
  • Implement and maintain robust internal controls, conduct regular financial process audits, and ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.
  • Oversee the calculation, collection, and reporting of share contributions, ensuring transparent reporting and communication..
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Fully Qualified (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
  • Extensive experience in management accounting, budgeting, and fund accounting.
  • Proven track record in the preparation of statutory accounts and managing year-end audit processes.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of UK accounting standards, Charities SORP, and Companies legislation.
  • Experience with ERP systems, including implementation and supervision.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing a diverse team and developing financial processes and controls.
  • Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint for presenting financial reports.
