Group FP&A Lead Accountant

Initial 6-month contract – potentially up to 12 months

£450 - £550 per day – Inside IR35

Coventry Based – Hybrid working (1-2 days from home a week)

Role Objective:

This role will work within the Group FP&A team to deliver:

•            High quality and insightful financial reporting and analysis to support Board, Executive committee and business decision making.

•            Interim and year-end reporting and analysis.

•            Support to the business planning and budgeting process to ensure budgets are underpinned and deliverable; and

•            To be a knowledgeable, trusted, and challenging financial advisor to stakeholders across all business areas.

Key Accountabilities:

•            Key point of contact for any capital and infrastructure renewal expenditure (IRE) queries, working closely with the Tactical asset planning and business partnering teams.

•            Provide insightful narrative of capex and IRE month end position and lead on managing any risks and opportunities.

•            Lead the monthly project forecast process facilitating a cross-team discussion across various finance and non-finance stakeholders

•            Monitoring of the capitalisation rates on a regular basis with detailed analysis to explain any deviations

•            Dedicated FP&A contact for depreciation working closely with the capital accounting team to understand in month actuals position and full year forecast as well as any risks and opportunities

•            Business partner for Group corporate functions including Investor relations and Tax.

•            Interface into the Investor Relations, Treasury, Regulation and Strategy teams to understand external stakeholder expectations, requirements and the wider commercial landscape.

•            Key role in the year end process, co-ordinating financial and performance reports and analysis for Investor Relations, the CFO and STEC

Experience:

To succeed in this role, it is expected that you will have:

Essential:

•            Experience working as part of a team and individually to meet tight deadlines.

•            Experience collaborating with various business areas to drive improvements in performance.

•            Building effective working relationships with financial and operational areas.

•            Experience preparing high quality financial information and presenting this in a clear and understandable format.

•            Strong excel (pivot tables/V Look Ups) and power point skills.

Desirable

•            Experience using Tagetik, SAP ECC and SAP BW.

•            Knowledge of Water industry regulatory framework.

•            Understanding of key forecasting principles.

•            Experience business partnering operational teams.

•            Experience working in a large, listed company involving consolidation.
