We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Senior Accountant to join our client's office. As a Senior Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional service to clients, managing complex accounting tasks, and ensuring high-quality results. You will be responsible for preparing financial statements for Limited companies, managing VAT returns, and overseeing management accounts. You will also have the opportunity to mentor junior staff, support their development, and become a trusted advisor to clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, maintaining strong relationships and providing exceptional client care.
  • Support junior team members with queries and professional development.
  • Take ownership of larger Limited Company accounts, including VAT returns and management accounts, with minimal supervision.
  • Communicate directly with clients to address queries and arrange necessary tasks.
  • Identify potential opportunities for additional services based on client needs.
  • Become proficient in Xero software and assist clients with system usage.
  • Consider personal tax planning when preparing company accounts.
  • Monitor time spent on projects to ensure adherence to budgeted hours.

About you:

  • Previous experience in an accountancy firm, with a focus on supporting clients.
  • Experience preparing Limited company accounts, particularly for businesses with turnovers over £1m.
  • Familiarity with FRS102, OMBs, groups, charities, SRA accounts rules, and FCA clients with CASS reporting.
