Accounts Assistant

Macildowie is working with a well-established business to recruit a Finance Assistant into their accounts team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a detail-oriented and proactive finance professional looking to take ownership of purchase ledger responsibilities while gaining exposure to broader financial processes.

This role is ideal for someone with experience in purchase ledger, reconciliations, and VAT returns, who thrives in a structured and supportive finance team.

As a Finance Assistant, your key responsibilities will include:

• Processing purchase invoices - matching invoices to purchase orders, ensuring approvals are in line with company policy.
• Supplier account reconciliation - ensuring balances on SAGE align with supplier statements.
• Managing the GRNI and Query Log - resolving invoice discrepancies to ensure accurate month-end reporting.
• VAT returns and compliance - preparing VAT records and maintaining accurate audit trails.
• Bank reconciliations - reconciling multiple accounts across different currencies.
• Supporting financial reporting - assisting with monthly and year-end processes.
