We have a fantastic new job opportunity within a small and friendly team for a Calibration Engineer / Metrology Engineerwho has experience calibrating equipment within a laboratory environment.
Working as the Calibration Engineer / Metrology Engineer you will be responsible for the precise calibration of measuring instruments within the temperature-controlled laboratory. You will ensure all calibrations are traceable to UKAS standards, maintaining the integrity of the equipment and laboratory to the highest specifications. This role requires the ability to generate accurate calibration certificates and maintain comprehensive documentation, vital for the ISO 9001:2015 accreditation.
As the Calibration Engineer / Metrology Engineer you will also provide essential technical support, offering expert help and advice to both colleagues and customers, ensuring seamless operations and customer satisfaction. Ongoing maintenance of calibration certificates, records, and files is crucial, alongside assisting with the upkeep of the ISO 9001:2015 accreditation. Occasional on-site calibrations will be required, demonstrating your adaptability and expertise outside of the laboratory.
The successful candidate will adhere strictly to the ISO 9001 guidelines and robust health and safety policies. You will also assist with the packing and despatch of customer equipment, ensuring its safe handling and timely delivery.

DUTIES
Your duties as the Calibration Engineer / Metrology Engineer include:
- Calibration of measuring instruments to UKAS traceable standards within a temperature-controlled laboratory
- Maintain calibration instrumentation, equipment and laboratory to required standards
- Maintain and produce accurate calibration records, therefore enabling the production of calibration certificates
- Provide technical support, help and advice to colleagues and customers when required
- Ongoing maintenance of calibration certificates, records and files
- Assist with the maintaining of ISO 9001:2015 Accreditation
- Some on site calibration required
- Work to ISO9001 guidelines and adhere to our health and safety policy and procedures
- Assist with the packing and despatch of customers equipment when required
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
- Previous experience in a calibration laboratory environment
- Knowledge of calibration procedures
- To be comfortable with customer contact and communication, either face to face, by telephone or email
- To be comfortable with travel to client sites
- Smart appearance, friendly and well mannered
- Knowledge of MS Office and Windows
- Clean drivers licence
- Forklift experience would be an advantage but not essential
