  • Working hours are Monday to Thursday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm and Friday from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm, with 33 days of holiday including bank holidays.
Thefutureworks are currently recruiting for a Quality Engineer to work for our client based in Coventry.

Requirements of the Individual:
An experienced Quality Engineer with a good working knowledge of the Quality core tools. Must possess strong understanding of the PPAP / APQP process and be able to create and update documents accurately and to a high standard. You will be required to work within the Quality team, as well as being a self-driven individual capable of delivering against customer, departmental and individual targets.

Experience
Good understanding of Quality core tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC)
Qualified Six Sigma Greenbelt.
Ability to read and understand Engineering drawings and specifications.
Experience working within ISO9001 or IATF16949 standards.
Good working knowledge of PPAP requirements to AIAG standards.
Demonstrate effective use of 8D for problem resolution.
Experience of product /process audits desirable
Ability to create, review and update control plans.
Experience of CMM, Hex arm, Vici-vison advantageous.

Job Purpose:
Responsible for compilation and submission of PPAP documentation to AIAG standards, ensuring that all documentation is accurate and complete to allow full approval of manufactured products.
Maintenance and monitoring the PPAP tracker ensuring all inspection activities are completed on time.
Monitoring and updating of customer portals ensuring all PPAP submissions are completed and submitted within the target date.
Liaison with the Inspection department regarding ISIR, Capability requirements for new projects.
Support in effective review of APQP requirements during project phases including attendance of the APQP and project review meetings.
Creation and development of prototype control plans & process flows at project stage, ensuring documents are reviewed and updated through to project maturity /SOP.
Maintenance of control plans & Process flows following Engineering changes.
Support in maintenance of departmental KPIs.
Effective communication with external customers on Quality related subjects.
Support SQA team with the gathering of supplier information where related to sample builds and initial PPAP submissions.
Support promotion of a "Quality culture" within the production facility.
