A leading UK provider of bespoke solutions in the Metrology market is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join their design team based in Coventry. Serving both UK and global customers, the company provides solutions ranging from one-off fixtures to fully automated measurement systems. Their high-profile customer base spans industries such as Aerospace, Automotive, and Orthopaedics, among others.

Responsibilities:
The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for the design of Gauges, Fixtures, and Systems. You will work closely with Software and Electrical Engineers and Technicians as projects move from concept to testing and final delivery.
Key activities include:

• Understanding and interpreting customer requirements.
• Developing innovative concepts to meet customer needs.
• Critically reviewing your own and team members' designs to ensure robustness.
• 3D modelling of concepts and detailed designs for manufacturing.
• Producing 2D manufacturing drawings.
• Supporting technicians in the assembly and testing of designs.
• Applying strong mechanical knowledge throughout the design process.

Key Requirements:

• A HND/Degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Experience using a 3D CAD package.
• Knowledge of a variety of materials and manufacturing processes.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop solutions for complex challenges.
• Familiarity with industry standard drafting practices.
• Strong communication skills for liaising with technical and project stakeholders.
• Desirable Requirements:
• Experience in fixture design.
• Experience in machinery design.
• Knowledge of CE marking.
