Job Title: Senior Mechanical Design Engineer
Location: Coventry
Salary: 45000 to 50000 (plus benefits), with potential for higher for more experienced candidates
Benefits:

Are you an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer looking for an exciting new challenge? Reed Engineering and Manufacturing is thrilled to present an opportunity for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join a dynamic team in Coventry, working in the specialist automation sector.
Role Overview:
As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will focus on the design of Gauges, Fixtures, and Systems. You will collaborate with Software and Electrical Engineers and Technicians, taking projects from initial concept through to testing and delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Understanding and interpreting customer requirements
- Inventing novel ideas (concepts) to meet customer requirements
- Critically appraising designs within the team to ensure robustness
- 3D modelling of concepts and detailed designs for manufacture
- 2D drafting of manufacturing drawings
- Supporting technicians in the assembly and testing of designs
- Demonstrating a good general mechanical understanding and knowledge
Key Requirements:
- HND/Degree in a relevant engineering discipline
- Experience using a 3D CAD package
- Knowledge of various materials and manufacturing processes
- Aptitude for problem-solving and developing solutions for complex problems
- Experience with industry-standard drafting practices and principles
- Effective communication skills at both a technical and project level
