Fortis are working with a great engineering client to recruit an application engineer to joint their team. This role is field based looking after client in the UK and Europe. The successful application engineer will advise customer and potential customers on ways to improve their manufacturing process this will be from a CNC machining perspective. You will need to be able to do CADCAM programming on CNC machines using either hyperMILL or NX.
As this role covers Europe you will need to be able to travel freely across the continent and if you can speak a 2nd or 3rd language that would be a benefit. The application engineer will work with distributors to promote the company products by giving demonstrations and presentations to potential customers.
Key requirements / responsibilities
-CNC CADCAM programming ability with hyperMILL or NX
-Experience advising customers on CNC machining problems
-Legally allowed to travel throughout Europe
-Sales, presentation and negotiation skills (exposure to customers)
-Managing a sales territory
-Attend trade shows as a technical expert
We are looking for an application engineer with a background in CADCAM programming who will be able to assist clients through manufacturing / programming issues and talk to them technically about the benefits of the clients products. You will then be able to demonstrate those benefits through tool trials.
Location is not a major issue for this position but candidates based in the Midlands will find it easier to visit / assist UK clients when needed.
