Job Title: Nursery Supervisor and Room Leader

Job Purpose:

To assist the Manager and Deputy Manager in providing high quality childcare and planned activities appropriate to the age and stage of development of the children. To maintain a safe, secure and caring environment.

Main Duties:

To be responsible for the daily running and administration of the nursery should the Manager and Deputy Manager both be absent. This incudes opening and locking up in the managers / deputy management absence. To support and liase with the Deputy Manager and the Manager on a daily basis and input suggestions and ideas to continuously development the team and setting.

To lead the toddler room and to support and guide other staff members in providing a friendly, caring and relaxing environment in order to encourage and develop children in our care. Be fully up to date with the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage and Birth to five matters and ensure that your practice meets and aims to exceed the requirements.

To supervise and monitor students and Early Years Assistants/Workers and settle in new children and to work with parents integrating all children of age and ability into the nursery. To provide on-going support, under a key worker system, liaising with parents and maintaining good communications.

To be a key person and carry out development assessments. To contribute to and participate in team meetings/team activities, outside of working hours if necessary. Ensure all policies and procedures are adhered to and implemented in the Nursery and respect confidentiality within the setting. To share relevant information and ensure that information passed between parents and staff is communicated to your supervisor/Nursery Manager as appropriate. To communicate with parents, visitors and outside agencies in a calm, friendly and efficient manner. Carry out any tasks or duties as requested by your Deputy Manager or Nursery Manager.

Qualities and Experience Required:

We require a caring, passionate and dedicated member of staff, minimum childcare level 3 qualified, with a minimum of 3 years experience in Early Year, preferably with leadership experience.

Qualifications:

Relevant level 3 or 4 childcare as defines by the Department for Education (DfE)

Desirable Qualifications:

Pediatric First Aid Qualification (Desirable but not essential)

Basic Food and Hygiene Certificate (Desirable but not essential)

You will be required to complete a DBS check prior to commencing employment.
