About the roleCoventry Building Society has an exciting new role for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer – MS SQL Server DBA within CIDO.The role holder will be a Subject Matter Expert (SME), and responsible for providing strategic expertise to ensure effective management of the technical and business services for your specialist area. Being accountable for the transition and ongoing support of the relevant solutions at CBS to meet business requirements and IT architectural strategy.The Senior Infrastructure Engineer – MS SQL Server DBA will be responsible for the creation, quality, and governance of technical and standards documentation to maintain a stable and consistent environment. Providing a high level of technical knowledge to complete the troubleshooting of and resolution to production incidents or problems to meet our operational IT needs and ensure business as usual services are maintained within agreed SLA’s.The role also includes the provision of assistance and influence to the Architecture, Development, and Support teams, to implement and support solutions into the CBS estate. With the ability to work under broad direction, exercise substantial personal responsibility, work in a fast paced and changing environment, whilst being thorough, with good attention to detail and delivering to agreed timescales. You’ll be able to articulate technical knowledge into easy-to-understand terms for all stakeholders and be flexible in your approach to working hours to meet your own objectives and assist colleagues in meeting their objectives.The successful applicant will also be required to be part of a callout rota with other DBAs on the Team after a suitable amount of training and familiarisation of the Society’s DB estate.Essential skills

Experience with MS SQL SERVER RDBMS 2019 and higher, including High availability (AOAG), or Oracle 19C RDBMS and higher, including High Availability (Dataguard), or AWS RDS for various databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MySQL, Aurora).
Proficiency in Jira.
Extensive technical background in Production Infrastructure support for critical 24x7 services.
Proficiency in Database technologies, including Oracle (on UNIX), Microsoft SQL Server (on Windows and AWS), and familiarity with AWS RDS.
Strong focus on troubleshooting, planning and mitigating risk.
Identify service improvements and efficiencies.
Managing Incidents, Requests, and Problems, with previous Service Now experience considered an advantage.
