Duties of a Workshop Manager

  • As Special Purpose Machine Build Manager you will lead a multi-disciplined team of technicians to ensure each build is completed on time, within budget and that its handed over to the customer with complete satisfaction.
  • As part of your role you will also be tasked with managing site services, driving 5S and ensuring all statutory regulations are adhered to.

Requirements of a Workshop Manager

Have a proven background in leading an engineering team within a special purpose machine build environment. Where you have had direct responsibility for plant performance, achieving targets, process development, mentoring staff, setting and monitoring KPIs and managing time critical projects.

You will ideally be:

  • Qualified to a HNC standard Mechanically
  • Have climbed the ranks of engineering from an apprentice level (ideally in toolmaking or mechanical fitting) into a position where you have led a team.
