Client Overview:

A family-owned and operated business based in Coventry does bespoke structural steelwork and metalwork.

The Role - Painter/Loader

Our client is looking for an experienced Painter/Loader. Candidate will be working on finished welded products, completing visual checks on own materials, once spray painted. Notify Workshop Manager of any concerns in relation to the above.

Painter/Loader check list:

  • Spray painting of materials to minimum 75 microns.
  • Quality checking materials ready for dispatch.
  • Stamp date and sign drawing as complete.
  • Check material with paint thickness gauge.
  • Accurately work from and interpret detailed drawings as and when required.
  • Ensure parts are defect free from assembly process and previous operations.
  • Prioritize, generate, and promote, safe working practices and adherence to Health and Safety standards at all times.
  • To operate role related equipment within designated areas always using health & safety rules, whilst maintaining targeted output
  • Maintain adherence to PPE standards.
  • All bolts and fixings to be loaded to the bolt list to enable erectors to work immediately onsite once steel arrives.
  • Once painted steel must be loaded safely onto trailers using over head cranes in the workshop. Load must be road safe and secure before leaving the workplace to go to site. Crossing off of despatch lists to ensure that no items are missed off.
  • Maintenance of a safe working environment, keeping areas always clear of debris and hazards and ensuring housekeeping standards are at an acceptable level, recognising potential/actual hazards and taking corrective actions to minimize accidents.
