Functional Skills/ Vocational Tutor

Make a Real Impact in Adult Education!

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Functional Skills Trainer to join our team in Coventry. In this role, you will empower adult learners (aged 19+) to achieve their educational and career goals by delivering engaging and impactful Functional Skills qualifications, ranging from Entry Level 1 to Level 2. By providing learners with the skills they need to succeed in the workplace, you’ll play a key role in helping them secure sustainable employment.

This position is based in our clients Coventry office, Staff parking is available on site.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct initial and diagnostic assessments to develop tailored learning plans for each learner
• Deliver high-quality and engaging Functional Skills training, meeting the needs of diverse ability groups (Entry Level 1 to Level 2)
• Monitor and assess learner progress, providing guidance and adapting teaching methods as necessary to ensure success
• Offer career advice and progression guidance to help learners achieve their long-term goals
• Develop and customise engaging teaching materials to keep learners motivated
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with all relevant quality standards and funding documentation
• Collaborate with team members to contribute to the continuous improvement of training delivery

What You Bring:

• A recognised teaching qualification (CTLLS, PTLLS, AET, PGCE)
• Experience delivering Functional Skills and/or vocational qualifications within an adult learning environment
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities, with the capacity to inspire and motivate learners
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Excel, SharePoint, Word, PowerPoint)
• Understanding of the local labour market and educational needs of adult learners
