A globally renowned manufacturer of electro-mechanical machinery is now seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join their state-of-the-art facility in Coventry. A company that prides itself on innovation is offering the successful candidate the opportunity to design electrical circuitry and harnesses, working closely with suppliers to ensure designs are manufactured to spec.

Reporting to the Head of Engineering, the Electrical Design Engineer will be responsible for assigned electrical designs, liaising with teams on site as well as other sites within the group, to create industry leading solutions in a highly competitive market. When customers identify a common fault, you will be tasked with investigating the issue to offer a solution. This will often lead to a change in design of certain components which can then be rolled out to customers.

Key responsibilities for the Electrical Design Engineer will include:

  • Supporting the generation and delivery of concept and manufacturing design definitions, based on technical specifications, requirements, costs and other constraints.
  • Supporting the conceptual development for new products.
  • Participating in maintaining relevant engineering processes and procedures.
  • Problem solving on existing products and product improvement.
  • Supporting the evaluation of technical issues in order to develop proposals for investigations and/or solutions.
  • Keeping up to date in relevant technical areas, developing skills and capabilities, and providing support to others as required.

The skills required for the Electrical Design Engineer include:

  • Electrical HND/Degree or relevant Electrical Engineering design experience.
  • Relevant experience of working in a senior electrical design role.
  • Confident ECAD user.
  • Capable of creating detailed schematic and harness drawings.
  • Excellent fault-finding skills.
