Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Production Operative with hands-on experience using both hand and power tools. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting in the efficient production and assembly of products, ensuring that all tasks are completed to a high standard, safely, and in line with production targets.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate a variety of hand and power tools, such as drills, grinders, saws, and sanders, to carry out production tasks.
Assemble products or components accurately according to specifications and technical drawings.
Inspect materials and finished products for defects, ensuring high-quality standards are maintained throughout the production process.
Follow safety guidelines and work instructions to ensure safe operation of equipment and tools.
Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting on hand and power tools to ensure their proper functioning.
Assist with loading and unloading materials or products, ensuring safe handling and storage.
Maintain a clean and organised work environment, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored when not in use.
Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet daily production targets and deadlines.
Record production data, including materials used and work completed, for accurate reporting and stock control.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, providing feedback on processes and suggesting ways to enhance productivity.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
Proven experience working as a production operative or in a similar manufacturing/production environment.
Strong knowledge and experience in the safe operation of hand and power tools.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
Good understanding of quality control processes and the importance of maintaining high standards.
Strong attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive tasks with accuracy.
Ability to work well independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions.
A proactive approach to problem-solving and troubleshooting equipment issues.
Basic knowledge of health and safety regulations and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Desirable:
Experience in a specific industry such as engineering, automotive, or construction.
Relevant vocational qualifications or certifications related to production or tool use.
