Position: Cover Supervisor (Ad hoc)

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Cover Supervisor to support secondary schools in Coventry on an ad hoc basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous experience working in education who is looking for flexibility and variety in their work schedule. As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing a classroom during a teacher's absence, ensuring students are engaged and completing their work, and maintaining a positive and productive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise students in the absence of their regular teacher.
- Deliver pre-prepared lessons and provide guidance on classroom tasks.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively and ensure that students remain on task.
- Assist with student queries and provide general support.
- Maintain a calm and controlled classroom environment.
- Report any issues or concerns to the school management team.
- Follow the school's policies and procedures, particularly related to safeguarding.
Key Requirements:
- Previous experience working as a Cover Supervisor or in a similar educational role.
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
- Ability to adapt to different teaching styles and environments.
- A proactive, flexible, and reliable approach to work.
- DBS check (or willingness to apply for one).
- Passion for working with young people and supporting their learning.
