The Vacancy

Our Client is an award winning CIEMM company, has a fantastic opportunity to join the GIS team. They are now looking to recruit a high-calibre Graduate GIS Consultant to work Full-time, on a Permanent basis. This role is Mixed with a Flexible office base UK wide, The role will comprise of home working and office attendance at one of the company offices Nationwide(Coventry, Leeds, Bristol, Cardiff, Southeast).

As a Graduate GIS consultant you will assist with GIS support for our full range of projects; as well as working to develop the GIS functions within the company, including elements of data design and management, data analysis and reporting, and data visualisation and, web-mapping and mobile GIS data collection.

Key Responsibilities

  • A graduate GIS Consultant is responsible for providing dedicated GIS support to small/medium projects (under supervision).
  • You will undertake all work with an appropriate level of care and attention, compliant with company procedures and within given timescales. You will demonstrate very good communication skills with team members and peers.
  • Develop your professional knowledge and skills; maintaining a personal CPD record and an up-to-date professional CV.
  • Manage your workload, giving priority to the tasks that need to be completed first.
  • Advise project staff on GIS related issues, including on-site data collection using Field Maps and Survey123.
  • Provide GIS advice to colleagues as required.

Person specification

  • Degree in GIS, Geography, Ecology, Environmental Science or a related subject
  • Practical experience of creating, managing and exploiting spatial data in GIS.
  • Experience of ESRI software products, particularly ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online.
  • Experience of web-mapping and map-service creation using ArcGIS Online tools.
  • Experience with ArcPy scripting and spatial modelling using Model Builder is desirable.
  • Field Maps and Survey123 experience desirable along with ESRI extensions (Spatial Analyst / 3D Analyst)
  • Knowledge of other GIS software, CAD and/or graphics packages would be advantageous.
