About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated PMO Lead / PMO Manager to join our clients team in Coventry. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the Project Management Office (PMO) and ensuring the effective governance of our portfolio of projects. This role requires a leadership skills and a proven track record in taking a lead PMO role.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead and manage the PMO function, ensuring alignment with the organisation’s strategic goals and objectives.

- Develop and implement PMO policies, procedures, and standards to ensure effective project delivery.

- Oversee the portfolio of projects, providing reporting and assurance to ensure they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.

- Provide guidance and support to project managers and teams, ensuring best practices are followed.

- Monitor and report on the status of the project portfolio, including progress, risks, issues, and resource utilisation.

- Facilitate portfolio planning sessions, prioritizing projects based on strategic objectives and resource availability.

- Ensure effective stakeholder management and communication throughout the project lifecycle.

- Conduct regular portfolio reviews and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.

- Manage resource allocation and capacity planning to optimize project delivery.

- Implement and maintain project management tools and systems to support project delivery and reporting.

- Develop and deliver training programs to enhance project management capabilities within the organisation.

Skills and Qualifications:

- Proven experience in managing a PMO, with a strong background in portfolio management.

- Excellent leadership and team management skills.

- Strong understanding of project management methodologies and frameworks (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).

- Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Proficiency in project management tools and software (e.g., MS Project, JIRA, PPM tools).

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

- Relevant certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, MoP, P3O etc are desirable.

Education and Experience:

- Demonstrated experience in managing complex project portfolios.
