Powertrain Calibration/System Performance Engineer – varying levels

ARCA Resourcing is partnered with a global leader in mobility technology within the automotive industry who are looking to recruit a number of Powertrain Calibration/System Performance Engineers to join their team.

The roles will cover a variety of functions and disciplines, including; internal combustion engine (ICE) calibration, enhancing powertrain system performance, data analysis, investigating and resolving issues, and conducting system modeling and simulation. There is also potential to work on emerging powertrain sectors, including battery and fuel cell technologies.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and oversee powertrain calibrations.
  • Establish, produce, and supervise engine test strategies.
  • Coordinate the planning, implementation, and evaluation of engine and system simulations.
  • Evaluate system performance, considering trade-offs and conducting data analysis.
  • Conduct data examination and root cause analysis to pinpoint powertrain system problems.
  • Perform system modeling and calibration simulations utilising tools like Matlab & Simulink

Experience:

  • Excellent understanding of diesel internal combustion engine operation and performance
  • Familiarity with ancillary systems such as air path, exhaust aftertreatment technologies, and control mechanisms.
  • Understanding of vehicle architecture & control system.
  • Exposure to or understanding of vehicle emissions requirements.
  • Simulation systems, especially Matlab / Simulink.
  • Competence in utilising calibration toolsets and engine calibration techniques, including managing trade-offs between emissions and performance
