Our client is a 4-bedroom childrenā€™s home for children aged 10-17 with EBD, located in a semi- affluent area of Coventry. They are a family-oriented organisation whose aim isĀ to nurture and empower the children they support so they can thrive and reach their full potential. They believe every child deserves a chance at becoming the best version of themselves and contributors to their local community.

Their goal is to as much as possible, keep children local so that they can retain strong links with their families, schools and the local community that they are familiar with.

They are recruiting a Registered Manager that shares these values to oversee the day to day running of the home, leading a dedicated and passionate team of care and support staff.

  • Registered Manager, 4-bedroom home, (EBD)
  • Annual Salary: Ā£55,000- Ā£62,000Ā depending on experience, plus bonus (up to 10% of salary)
  • Location: Cheylesmore, Coventry

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Manage services including staff supervision, care and placement planning, safeguarding, and quality and compliance monitoring.
  • Implement statutory and organisational policies and procedures, providing feedback on their effectiveness.
  • Develop constructive relationships within the community to promote outcomes for looked after children.
  • Ensure staff meet the needs of each child with tailored care and planning.
  • Lead the home in an aspirational manner, inspiring both children and staff.
  • Produce monitoring reports and statistical data, ensuring compliance with organisational policies.
  • Embed the principles of equality and diversity in the homeā€™s culture.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Hold a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young Peopleā€™s Services or equivalent or working towards it.
  • 3 yearsā€™ experience working with children in the last 5 years, with at least 2 years at a senior level.
  • Supervision or management experience in a residential setting.
  • Knowledge of Childrenā€™s Home Regulations and Quality Standards 2015, SSCIF, and relevant child protection legislation.
  • Ability to lead and manage a staff team, handle stress, and maintain high-quality care.
  • Fit to manage a childrenā€™s home as outlined in the requirements for registration as a manager.
