Level 2 Teaching Assistant

£80 - £85 Per Day (salary is depending on experience and/or qualifications)

The School and Role 

We are looking for Level 2 Teaching Assistants to support children who have additional needs in mainstream education.  

You would be working in a SEND Resource Base in a primary school, this is a dedicated space that provides specialized support and education for students with additional needs. Staffed by trained professionals, it offers personalized learning plans, adapted curriculum, and assistive technology to ensure accessibility for all students. The resource base promotes inclusion by integrating students into mainstream classes when appropriate, while also providing a calm and supportive environment with sensory rooms and quiet areas. Emphasizing social and emotional development, it includes social skills training and counselling. Collaboration with parents and continuous assessment ensure that each child's progress is monitored, and support is adjusted as needed, fostering a nurturing and inclusive educational experience. 

A Level 2 Teaching Assistant (TA) in a SEND Resource Base supports students with special educational needs by helping implement individualized education plans and providing targeted assistance. Their responsibilities include working closely with teachers to adapt lesson materials, manage the classroom, and monitor student progress. They offer one-on-one or small group support to help students with their academic and social skills. Additionally, Level 2 TAs assist with creating a supportive learning environment and collaborate with parents, caregivers, and other professionals to ensure each child receives consistent and effective support. 

The desired Teaching Assistant will possess: 

  • Have a Level Two Teaching Assistant qualification, or relevant experience.  

  • Have experience working with Children or young adults who have additional needs.  

  • A DBS Check, or readiness to undergo a DBS check. 

  • You must be comfortable with personal care.  

  • Behavior Management skills.  

  • You should possess patience and have a child centered approach to your work.
