We are seeking a skilled HGV Technician to join our team, responsible for the maintenance and repair of heavy goods vehicles. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background and demonstrate excellent problem-solving abilities. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that our fleet operates efficiently and safely, contributing to our commitment to outstanding customer service.
Monday - Friday 8am-5pm
Duties
- Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on HGVs & Trailers, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
- Diagnose faults using schematics and technical manuals to identify issues accurately.
- Perform equipment repairs, including electrical systems
- Assemble and disassemble vehicle components, utilising power tools and hand tools effectively.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed and parts used for each vehicle serviced.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding repairs and maintenance needs.
- Operate machinery safely when moving vehicles or equipment within the workshop.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an HGV Technician or in a similar role within the automotive industry.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle systems, including electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic components.
- Proficiency in using power tools and hand tools for assembly and repair tasks.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, schematics, and manuals.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills to provide exceptional customer service.
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in vehicle maintenance or engineering are advantageous but not essential.
