Your new roleIT TechnicianA Secondary School in Coventry is seeking an IT Technician for a full-time, permanent role starting ASAP.The school is looking to appoint a reliable and enthusiastic IT technician to join their friendly team. The IT Technician will provide first-line technical support to both students and staff. Alongside the IT Manager, the IT Technician will support the maintenance and operation of the school's IT provision to ensure an efficient, high-quality service.About the SchoolThis 'Good' Ofsted-rated Secondary School aims to equip students to live life to the fullest by providing excellent, inclusive education. They offer a broad and ambitious curriculum designed to help all students flourish academically and achieve their potential.Responsibilities

  • Ensure dedicated ICT areas are ready for use each day and are in good working order.
  • Regularly check hardware and report any faults.
  • Adhere to IT policies, including those related to safeguarding and internet usage.
  • Assist with the installation and maintenance of hardware and software.
  • Update virus protection programs.
  • Assist with the maintenance of the school's software security systems.
  • Maintain the school's hardware database.
  • Maintain the school's network printers.
  • Support and maintain interactive whiteboards and projectors throughout the school.
  • Proactively assist staff in solving IT problems and liaise with the IT Manager and external agencies/companies as necessary.

Requirements

  • Good academic qualifications.
  • A solid understanding of IT systems and a willingness to further develop.
  • Comfort with using Microsoft operating systems.
  • Good interpersonal skills and enjoyment of working with others.
  • A strong work ethic and the ability to work independently.
  • Good problem-solving skills and logical thinking.
