Maintenance Engineer – Coventry

Location: Coventry
Salary: £46,000 + Excellent Overtime Scheme
Benefits: 33 Days Holiday
Shift Pattern: Panama days/nights
Training Provided: On Various OEM Equipment


The Company:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Maintenance Engineer to join a large, well-established global business based in Coventry. Our client, a renowned automotive manufacturing group, has recently secured several large contracts and is experiencing significant growth.


Role Overview - Maintenance Engineer:
As a Maintenance Engineer, you will focus on breakdown elimination and preventative maintenance to ensure the smooth operation of automated machinery and robotics across the site. The role will be technically challenging but highly rewarding, with opportunities for personal development and career progression.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform maintenance, production improvements, and project work across various automated systems.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical faults on several types of machinery.
  • Gain exposure to a wide range of machinery, including robotics.
  • Perform fault-finding on PLCs at both the input and output levels.
  • Collaborate within a 12-man maintenance team to improve operations and equipment efficiency.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and take ownership of individual projects.

Essentials:

  • An apprenticeship and relevant qualifications in engineering (electrical).
  • Previous experience working in an engineering or manufacturing background.
  • Knowledge and experience working with machine tools is advantageous.
  • Experience in risk assessments and safe working practices.
  • Proven problem-solving skills in breakdown maintenance.
  • Preventative maintenance experience.
  • Strong understanding of health & safety standards and safe systems of work.
