We are representing a highly regarded main contractor with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality construction and building projects across various sectors, including education, commercial, and residential. Our client boasts an annual turnover of 150m and regularly undertakes projects up to 30m in value. They are currently seeking an experienced Senior Site Manager to join their team and take responsibility for the successful delivery of a 25m school project in Coventry.



The Role:

As the Senior Site Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day management of this major project, acting as the #2 to the Project Manager. You will take full responsibility for the management of the site, ensuring that all operations are conducted efficiently, safely, and to the highest standard. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a significant build, overseeing a dynamic and skilled team, and ensuring the timely and cost-effective delivery of the project.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Full responsibility for site management on a 25m school project
  • Assisting the Project Manager in the overall management of the project
  • Ensuring all health & safety protocols are strictly adhered to
  • Managing site logistics, including material deliveries, plant, and equipment
  • Overseeing subcontractors and ensuring their work is completed to a high standard
  • Monitoring progress against the programme, ensuring milestones are met
  • Ensuring the highest quality of work in line with the company and project standards
  • Managing site documentation, including method statements, risk assessments, and permits to work
  • Liaising with clients, consultants, and other stakeholders
  • Reporting regularly to the Project Manager and senior leadership team on progress


Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Senior Site Manager within the construction sector, ideally on projects of similar size and complexity
  • Strong background in managing projects ranging from 10m to 30m in value, preferably in education, commercial, or residential sectors
  • Extensive knowledge of health & safety regulations and best practices
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple teams and subcontractors
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Experience working as part of a main contractor
  • Valid SMSTS, CSCS card, and First Aid certifications
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure
