CAD Engineer needed!Salary range between £35k - £50k depending on experience Pertemps is proud to recruit on behalf of our client for this exciting opportunity!Are you ready to bring innovative ideas to life? We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our client's dynamic R&D team. This role offers the chance to leverage your expertise in manufacturing processes, mechanical principles, and CAD to design next-generation products. Your contributions will play a vital role in product development and support various business areas with high-quality documentation and visuals.________________________________________Responsibilities- Product Design: Create mechanical components for new product development using SolidWorks, including component layouts and product casings.- Supplier Collaboration: Work closely with suppliers to ensure the efficient manufacturing of designed parts.- Technical Documentation: Prepare manufacturing drawings, wiring diagrams, datasheets, user manuals, and build manuals.- Safety Standards: Coordinate with test houses to perform product safety assessments and adhere to safety procedures.- Quality Compliance: Maintain company standards for quality, certification, and compliance, particularly ATEX, UKEX, IECEx, and CSA certifications.- Customer Assurance: Uphold company responsibilities for product certifications and customer duty of care.________________________________________Required Skills- CAD Expertise: Proficiency in SolidWorks is essential (SEE Electrical is a plus).- Manufacturing Knowledge: Familiarity with processes like injection molding and CNC machining.- Technical Writing: Ability to write clear, concise instructions and documentation.- Design Standards: Understanding of IP protection (e.g., IP65) and mechanical safety principles (e.g., BS EN 61010).________________________________________Terms of Employment- Employment Type: Full-time (for less experienced engineers) or part-time (for more experienced engineers).- Flexible Hours: Core working hours are 8:00-16:30, with options to work earlier, later, or weekends if preferred.- Remote Working: Work from home is possible, with a minimum of one day per week in the office.- Annual Leave: 25 days per year (full-time equivalent), increasing by one day every three years, up to 28 days.________________________________________Perks and Benefits- Life Cover: Company-provided life insurance (3x basic salary).- Pension Scheme: Enrolment in the NEST pension scheme.- Exclusive Offers: Access to special discounts through the company HR system.- Health & Wellbeing: Support through the 3rd-party Health Assured program.________________________________________Join a team that is shaping the future of mechanical design and innovation.
