A globally renowned manufacturer of electro-mechanical machinery is now seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their state-of-the-art facility in Coventry on a contract basis. The contract will be for an initial 3-month period, however this may be extended, dependent on the needs of the business. Reporting to the Design Manager, the Mechanical Design Engineer will design full machines from scratch as well as modifications to an existing product range. You will join an existing team of 3 full time Design Engineers along with 3 contractors. You will liaise with teams on site as well as other sites within the group, to create industry leading solutions in a highly competitive market.Some of the skills and experience required for this Mechanical Design Engineer role are listed below:* Support the generation and delivery of concept and manufacturing design definitions, based on technical specifications, requirements, costs and other constraints* Support the conceptual development for new products* Participate in maintaining relevant engineering processes and procedures* Problem solving on existing products and product improvement* Support the evaluation of technical issues in order to develop proposals for investigations and/or solutions* Keeping up to date in relevant technical areas, developing skills and capabilities, and providing support to others as requiredThe successful Mechanical Design Engineer will have experience working in off-highway, automotive, aerospace or any high precision engineering environment where they have designed complete solutions, often from scratch.Part of a large, European based group, this site is undergoing heavy investment and is constantly winning awards for innovation.
