- The delivery of concept and manufacturing design definitions, based on technical specifications, requirements, costs and other constraints.
- Responsible for the conceptual development of new product solutions in the scoping phase of programmes.
- Responsible for evaluating technical issues and develop proposals for solutions
- Planning, controlling and delivering assigned projects, ensuring requirements are delivered to plan, budget and costs
- Participate in maintaining relevant engineering processes and procedures
- Problem solving on existing products and product improvement
- Preparing and delivering progress reports against project plans
- Keeping up to date with relevant technology developments in appropriate technical areas, developing skills and capabilities, and giving support and expertise to others as required
- Where required, teach and mentor apprentices and graduates in your field of expertise
- Support a continuous improvement culture across the Engineering team, contributing to a high performing environment.
- HND or Degree qualified in a relevant mechanical engineering subject
- Proven background in in Mechanical Design for specialist equipment and machinery
- Skilled in 3D CAD design using Creo Parametric, Pro Engineer, or similar 3D CAD packages
- Working knowledge of hydraulic, electrical and mechanical systems
- experience of engineering projects through full lifecycle
- Knowledge of whole vehicle design / heavy gauge fabrication highly desirable.
