Position SummaryReports to: Maintenance Manager

Direct reports: None

Working Hours: Continental shift pattern (4 on, 4 off) working 12 hour shifts. This will rotate between days (06:00-18:00) and nights (18:00-6:00) each block (average of 42 hours per week).

Main AccountabilityAs a Multi Skilled Engineer - Electrically biased (internally known as Shift Technician) you will ensure the smooth running and maintenance of key production equipment using your specialist engineering knowledge whilst delivering optimum plant reliability through preventative maintenance and electrical testing, including fault finding and problem solving.

Responsibilities

路 Provide technical expertise for Electrical and Mechanical maintenance of plant equipment whilst carrying out reactive and PPM using electrical, control system and mechanical engineering skill set

路 Undertakes tasks which require data and strong diagnostics to identify and act upon underlying root cause issues

路 Provide support to and involvement in site Project and Change Initiatives (CI鈥檚) as appropriate

路 Coaching and supporting the Manufacturing Technician (MT) group to develop their technical skills

路 Responsible for co-ordination of contractors and contracts including issuing of PTW, review of risk assessments and method statements (RAMS)

路 Activities will include Working at Height, Confined Spaces, Hot work, Fire investigation/Incident support (relevant training will be provided by PepsiCo.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

路 Indentured time served Engineering Apprenticeship with NVQ Level 3 or equivalent

路 Recognised Electrical (min. 17th Edition) or Mechanical Qualification, i.e. Strong Electro-Mechanical aptitude is essential

路 Lean experience and control skills are ideal but not essential

路 Excellent communication and decision making skills

路 Strong team player who adopts a continuous improvement approach

路 Computer literate

Preferred (but not Essential) Qualifications:

路 Ideally a multi-disciplined engineer with FMCG experience

路 City & Guilds 2391 holder

路 Working knowledge of PLC systems - Allen Bradley and/or Siemens

路 Working knowledge of CMMS and SCADA systems and associated applications (further training will be provided by PepsiCo)
