Powertrain Simulation Engineer - Coventry (Hybrid) - Up to £45,000 per annum

What You Will Do:

  • Perform 1D Modelling and simulation activities for ICE/electrified powertrains and vehicles, focusing on Performance & Efficiency using MATLAB/Simulink/GT Suite/AVL Cruise-M.
  • Engage in data processing and analysis, reporting findings to both internal and customer teams and management.
  • Support system analysis projects across a range of battery and powertrain concepts.
  • Contribute to the design and development of powertrain components through structural simulations, impact analysis, and optimization studies.
  • Present analysis results and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Participate in internal presentations, training, and knowledge exchange sessions.

What You Will Bring:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant engineering area (Mechanical, Automotive, Electric/Electronics)
  • Experience in 1D CAE simulations for ICE & electric powertrains, batteries, model correlation & validation against test data (using Simulink/GT Suite/ AVL cruise-M)
  • Good experience in scripting using Python 
  • Experience in 1D modelling of internal combustion engines modelling for performance and emissions (preferred)
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to make clear technical recommendations.
  • A self-starter attitude with flexibility to work across multiple projects/locations.
